Artist Bio
Montreal based Artist Designer, D. Léonor Leclair, made her debut as DELINOR in 2013, and officially registered on March 7th 2014. Contractual designer under confidential agreements with major North American companies mainly in Canada and United States, and expert in hard surface and mosaic pattern designs since 2005, DELINOR intends to increase creative opportunities within the avant-garde milieu.
Her artistic developments started at an early age. Born of artistic parents – Father Photographer / Mother Painter – a sense of curiosity and exploration was constantly in the air. Traveling young around the globe, her unconscious mind grasped and impregnated an eclectic range of styles. From the classic monuments of Italy, the intricate ornaments of Bali’s temples, Gaudi’s architecture and mosaic in Barcelona, to the abstract avant-garde of New York City.
Bachelor of Fine Arts – Design Art and Urban Studies (Concordia University, 2004), her artistic interests of refined details combined with a wider sense of interaction and connection, have brought a poetic flare to her artworks and designs.
Artistic Process
The artistic process behind DELINOR is rooted in spontaneity and presence. I capture details that catch my eye—often the most ordinary ones. This instinctive act becomes the first thread. I call it The Art of Ordinary. From there, I let play take over. With no fixed direction, I manipulate images freely, letting the moment shape the design. It’s a dance between observation and intuition.
